One of the "main stays" of the Media All-Stars Program is the tour at KVBC TV (local NBC Affiliate). On November 3rd the JD Smith Middle School Media All-Stars toured KVBC. Twelve excited, yet well behaved Media All-Stars students attended the tour. Carla Rea (KVBC Community Affairs Director) was our wonderful tour guide. The students got to see various departments within the TV Station - Newsroom, Graphics, Editing, Studio, Master control and the entire TV Station campus. Also, the students were in the studio during the live broadcast of the 4pm news! Some of the students even got to operate the expensive and ultra-technical cameras that are used during the newscast! Special thanks to Carla Rea, Kendall Tenney, Sophia Choi, Kevin Janison, Sue Manteris, and the entire wonderful crew at KVBC! KVBC is always so welcoming to the students!
The After-School All-Stars and the Media All-Stars are looking forward to more upcoming tours at KVBC. Orr MS is touring on 11-17-09. Bridger MS is touring on December 1st. Cashman MS is touring on December 8th.
